Vintage wedding card and bunting

After having a stall at our playgroup's pamper evening, a customer asked me to make some bunting for her sisters wedding along with a matching card. This is what I came up with. I am so pleased with the way it turned out..and for once all my own work and inspiration- I just pretended I was Emma Trout and Rachel Elliot rolled into one and got on with it!

Scrapstars retreat

Well it's been a good while since I last blogged but I have been really busy since then. The highlight was a weekend away in Leeds at the scrapstars retreat (and yes I managed not to be sick for this one!)
Had a lovely time and met some lovely people and made some fabby things thatnks to the wonderfully talented teachers.

Here are some of the creations. I have yet to finish all of Lida's.

 This one from Rachel's class

This one from Emma's class

 and another from Rachel
another from Emma

and three of my creations in the evenings after dinner...can you see the difference...I just don't have the amazing creative talents to chonk out LO's as beautiful as in the classes. Oh well, it's a journey and a learning curve..perhaps I'll get there one day :-)

I also started the most amazing flip flap mini book which I intend to put my dads memories in and I can't wait to finish it and share.

Spare time?

Well yesterday all three peeps were asleep at once and so instead of plumping for some housework I thought i would try to get a quick LO done as it's been a good few weeks since I did one. I picked a pack from my pile...some papers and pics I had literally just thrown together because I thought they matched. And this was the result about an hour later. I was quite pleased as I just grabbed a sketch I jotted down in my notebook well over a year ago from somewhere for a little inspiration and off I went.

Another LO

Meant to put this up ages ago after it was done. Another scraplift from Rachel..the second that week to get my mojo going, which it still isn't! :-) Another in progress as we speak. Still buoyed by the prospect of  Scrapstars retreat at the end of September.

Back from hols

Well a week after we are back from our hols and I have finally managed to finish the washing and sit down to get a LO done. All credit for this, however, has to go to Rachel from Sarahs cards as I purely and simply have copied her beautiful LO from the January kit- fancy pants, happy together. It was a bit of a hellish week so I needed purely and simply to sit down and create something pretty without having to make my mind work (which it wouldn't). I am going to do one more LO by scrap lifting and by then hopefully the creative juices will be flowing again! I do so love Rachels work.

Sophies first LO and minibook

At the ripe old age of four and a half my little girl has completed her first minibook. She used a kit her grandma got her from M&S and has been plodding away at it for about a week I guess. Not bad for a first attempt.
She has her own little drawer where I put all my old unwanted stash adn I bought her the little Tesco gardening bag which makes a great mini tote!

My little man has even been using the mini punches to punch out butterflies, hearts and stars!

Minibook Finished!

Have been working on this minibook for my dads first wedding anniversary to Sharon for about 3 weeks now. Phew, what a marathon.

Rain at Last

My garden has been crying out for some rain and thankfully at last it arrived...with thunder too. I love the sound of rain and it was fab to have to get up in the night to little lady and then to lay there listening to the drips and drops. Well, on national scrapbook day I managed to steal a few hours to myself to do another LO. This one took inspiration from Rachel at Sarahs Cards using the May kit again...fancy pants. I had wanted to do one of these distressed pizza box LO's for ages and finally plucked up the courage. The little butterflies are cut using Martha Stewart pop up butterfly punch (these are the cut out bits), and when I used a small blob of glue in the middle to stick them down the wings naturally curled up, which was perfect. Not sure if I would use the pizza box thing again but it was fun to try thank you for the idea Rachel.

Created this LO using Sarahs Cards May kit Fancy Pants. I just love this kit..it's one of those where you don't want to cut the paper to use one side..becasue the other is so beautiful as well and you want to use that too. I have a couple more LO's to do with this kit I think...can't wait.

what a lovely royal wedding it was yesterday. Although I must confess to not being into all the churchy stuff I thought the bride looked beautiful and they make a lovely couple. Wish queeny would smile a little more too. Anyway, managed to squeeze in a LO in the afternoon using Sarahs Cards May 2010 kit...fancy pants.

Easter Weekend

What a lovely weekend...aside from the day spent in 2 hospitals with Soph's infected post op wound. Still we won't mention that! Mum and brother were over monday and it was lovely. Did the easter egg hunt for the children (as we were at Bournemouth beach on Sunday) and they had lots of fun in the paddling pool too.

On a roll.....

A variation on a theme of a LO from a class at the Sarahs Cards retreat I recently attended.

School Results Day

Got the school place allocations today and it seems we are off to St Marks in September. Had a freind of Sophie's over for a sleepover last night and the little tinkers were up at 4:30am so I am pooped. Managed to get another LO finished last night though...and thank goodness its the last one from a kit that I really didn't enjoy the colours of. They are very bright and bold and not my thing at all really. Still I was determined to maximise the use and not waste it so I have squeezed 3 LO's from it and am quite pleased with myself given I haven't done any scrapping in ages!

Time for a BBQ!

Have finished the UKS weekly challenge, for a change. Totally out of my comfort zone as it is a minimal LO. Tried stamping directly onto bazzil for the first time- I am trying not to buy any more stash until the supplies I have are diminished..ha ha..like that's going to work. Didn't have bright red small letters hence the stamped letters using some 'clearly handstamped' stamps I bought from create and craft a while back.

Finally managed to finish the LO I have been working on for a couple of weeks. Halfway through another already. Perhaps the mojo is returning!

Happy Mothers Day

Still haven't managed to finish the LO I seem to have been working on forever. But I did manage to make this. Its a larger version (postcard size) of a make and take at the Sarah's Cards retreat I went to in March. I have a lot of grungeboard letters still to use (courtesy of Ally Pally a few years ago) and I didn't have a clue what to do with them until now.
